Configuring Email using Netscape 6 or 7


  1. In Netscape, go to the Tasks menu and choose Mail (it could be on the Window or Tools menu, depending on what version you have)
  2. Go to the Edit menu, and choose Edit Mail/News Account Settings
  3. If you have any accounts in the list on the left-hand side, delete them. The only items left in the list should be Local Folders and Outgoing (SMTP) server
  4. Click the New Account button
  5. Choose ISP or email provider, then click Next
  6. For Your name enter your name (this can be anything you like - full name, first name, nickname, etc)
  7. For Email Address enter your email address (yourloginname@alphalink.com.au)
  8. Click Next
  9. For Server Type, choose "POP Mail Server" or just "POP"
  10. In the Server Name box type: pop.alphalink.com.au
  11. Click Next
  12. The Username box should already contain your email login name, if not - enter it
  13. Click Next
  14. The Account name here can be anything - just click Next
  15. Click Finish
  16. Click on Outgoing (SMTP) server on the left-hand side
  17. Next to Server name, type: mail.alphalink.com.au
  18. Make sure that Always use username and password is NOT ticked
  19. Click OK and you are done!
