The Meltrip Story

Meltrip.. commenced in December 2000 to provide an information resource for Melbourne public transport passengers.

Meltrip.. soon emerged as the popular alternative to the official Victrip site, which at the time was difficult to use and did not meet passenger information needs.

Victrip was revamped in early 2003 and adopted several features previously only available on Meltrip.. and similar sites interstate. These improvements made Victrip easier to use and more informative. In July 2004 the Victrip name was dropped with its function incorporated into an enlarged Metlink/Viclink website.

Following these changes, Meltrip.. adopted a more specialised role. Additional material, not found elsewhere, was written on service disruptions, passenger information facilities, related bus routes and area-based route lists. Its target audience now includes industry professionals, urban researchers, enthusiasts and the general public wanting to get the most from services provided.

Suggestions or comments on the Meltrip.. website should be sent to Peter Parker.
