The North-Eastern parts of Prussia were known as Lithuania Minor. Here, the Lithuanian language was first written down, and here, with Donelaitis, Lithuanian secular culture took root. It was homeland to such great thinkers as Immanuel Kant and Vydûnas. Here, Göthe and Herder admired the beauty of the Lithuanian culture. The Prussian Lithuanians, Lietuvininkai were only ousted from their homeland by the two World Wars. A few are still alive...
